PLEASE READ. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF WATER BAPTISM? Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16 Whoever believes in Jesus Christ and whoever have received Him as their Lord and Savior must take the water baptism, this truth is clearly described in the bible words which are written by the Spirit of God. Baptism is not a religious procedure but it is an action taken by the believer which declare their faith and obedience to God. We need to ask the help of the Holy Spirit to receive wisdom to know about the will God, the need of baptism, only He can make you understand about this. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, even He was the Son of God He obeyed God by His action. He humble Himself and obeyed the will of God and then the heaven opened, Holy Spirit comes to Him the glory of God revealed and Father said “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” ( Matthew 3:13-17) So we also need to humble ourselves and get baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit which is the commandment of God to join the body of Christ as the living stones. “Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.” John 3:5 Jesus is coming to take His church in His second coming but no one can become the part of His church and be ready for His coming without the Holy Spirit and baptism. The church is resembled to the body of Christ so if we want to become an organ in Christ body we need to get baptized. It is written- “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 Some people are taking baptism for receiving blessings and deliverance form God that is not right, you don’t have to do that just for blessings. You need to understand the purpose of God before you get the baptism. Baptism is a request or prayer to God for a good conscious, it is an action asking God for His grace, it is like posting an application to God to go heaven just like we applying for the passport to go abroad. yes baptism is a step of obedience we take asking God for His grace to leave sin forever and live under His grace. “And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 3:21 (NIV) Believers demonstrates their faith to the public when they get baptism they are not ashamed of it because Jesus was not ashamed to die for them, crucified and hanging naked in midst of the public. We become new in spirit because we wear Christ in our spirit after the baptism. “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3-27 (NIV) Baptism gives the conscious to the believers that they cannot continue in their old sinful natures anymore because they are crucified with Christ when they get baptized in the water, they already dead to sin under the water. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 So we need to obey the commandment of Jesus and take the water baptism to be the part His body ! “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20 God Bless You!
