PLEASE S-H-A-R-E!!! UPDATED (PH Time, 9:38 PM, 12 November 2013): We would like to make an appeal to all relief organizations to try to distribute efficiently and equitably your donations. We have received reports that relief efforts have been skewed only to those areas which have been covered by the media. However, take note of this partial list of towns which have been decimated. Many of the areas here are severely damaged while all of these areas are in dire need of supplies. Supplies there will only last them in the next 2 to 3 days and looting in many of these parts will be inevitable. Like we have said over and over again before, EASTERN SAMAR remains out of the loop in most relief operations. From volunteers and families who managed to travel from Eastern Samar to Tacloban where communication is available, they have not received an iota of relief effort. We appeal to the media to provide us with more information on Eastern Samar and we appeal to organizations out there to coordinate with other organizations to consolidate relief efforts and improve logistics. We are trying our best to get everyone together. We arranged the affected areas according to Zones so that we can be more logistically clear. Big or small, all areas have to be covered. The list remains PARTIAL; hence, if we can crowdsource information on your locality, we can put you guys in the loop. We would appreciate if you can also help us out gather information on the number of affected persons in these areas. A good example would be the data collected from Iloilo (ZONE E). This can provide us with a clear picture on the extent of relief effort needed on the ground. We would also like to correspond LOCAL organizations, individuals, and volunteer groups in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and elsewhere in the world doing in-kind relief efforts to provide us data with: 1.) Areas of concern organization identified (one town or multiple towns) 2.) Quantity of in-kind relief goods collected and targeted area of concern 3.) Amount of cash collected and targeted area of concern 4.) Resources needed so we can connect you with other organizations, volunteers, and groups. You may send details to: bangonphilippines.appspot or to this post. We do not want our relief efforts to go in vain. Thus, data collection, consolidation, and connection are important. We are here to help connect you with groups who are also helping out. The BangonPhilippines volunteers are ready to help. Note: The figures on the right is the total population of the affected areas since last May 2010 census. We need data on the actual number of affected persons and extent of damages (see example in Iloilo) to give us a picture of the extent of the damages. For inaccuracies as to the name of the location or if your area is not severely decimated, please comment on the official facebook page of ANC 24/7. Thanks!
