PLEASE SEE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM US SERVICE ACADEMIES: We would like to invite you and your students to our third annual Academy Day for students residing in or attending school in Indiana’s ninth district. This event is for all high school students or college students up to age 22 who wish to attend one of the United States service academies (U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Merchant Marines, or the U.S. Air Force Academy). Please spread the word among your students that this year’s Academy Day will be held at Ivy Tech Community College, Saturday, September 28th, in the Horseshoe Assembly Center, located at 8204 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172. Doors will open at 9:00am and the program will start at 10:00am with an introduction from Congressman Todd Young and representatives from each of the five academies. Attending a United States service academy is an honor and a great way to get an education and build leadership skills that will serve a young man or young woman well in all facets of their life. Your students are invited to mingle and speak with any of the representatives. Students are also encouraged to bring their parents to the event on September 28th. I have attached copies of the academy nomination application, a flyer to promote the event, and a basic overview of the event itinerary.
