PLEASE SHARE Im not even really sure how to begin this post, but here goes. We posted this boy on New Years Day. He was found in Lincoln and the lady who took him in ended up finding his owners. Sadly, they didnt want him back. Hes gotten out of their yard numerous times, and this last time were willing to surrender him. Reluctantly, they went and picked him up. I asked them to contact us. Turns out his name is Chato. They got him as a puppy to be their guard dog. Hes been their protector for 8 years. Hes lived outside and kept them safe. But they now realize that they dont have time for him. So they are willing to let us find him a new home. We tried. Sadly, he doesnt do well with other dogs. He isnt aggressive so to speak, he just doesnt know how to react to them and has had a few not so great experiences with dogs in homes that tried to help him. So we need to place him as an only dog. I got to meet this sweet boy and hes nothing but love. Hes starved for attention. Hes great with people and ADORES kids. Hes never been properly introduced to other animals which is why we are asking for him to be an only pet. Hes lived his entire life outside protecting his family. They bring him in when its too cold or raining, but hes alone. He deserves to experience love and family. I know its a long shot, but Im posting him regardless. Hes great in the car, crate trained, leash trained, and just wants to snuggle. If any of you have it in your heart to adopt a senior dog as your companion, please contact us. We would love to be able to get him inside and into a loving home. Hes one of the sweetest dogs Ive ever met.
