++PLEASE SHARE WITH FRIENDS++ My sons were raised like I was … to make your own way in life and earn what you get. Most have observed that I have generally stayed out of the campaign regarding my son Chris’ efforts to represent the good people of the 17th Congressional District in Rockland and Westchester. Circumstances however change, especially when I see the same vile hatred rearing its ugly head like it did in my campaign last year. Attached you will see posters (with translation) that are currently hanging on the walls of Hasidic synagogues of Rockland County. These are just two and include language that Chris is the “#1 Jew Hater/Anti Semite” and sounds eerily familiar to the comments leveled at and my family last year . These haters, who have been guaranteed the right of free speech by those like Chris Day who served his Country in combat, are now engaged in a scurrilous smear campaign on an honorable man. Outlandish? Disgusting? Absolutely. Absurd? Even more so when one considers that Chris is the VP of an Israeli-focused investment firm, his wife is Jewish (they even danced the hora at their wedding), his son is halachly Jewish and he is a member of The Jewish Society at Yale. Worse still, I am told by reliable sources that this smear campaign is not done independently, and is financed by those associated Nita Lowey’s campaign. I am demanding the following: That the responsible leaders of the Hasidic community immediately condemn this smear campaign and ensure that all these posters are removed, as they are a stain on any building that purports to be a house of God. Secondly, that Congresswoman Lowey publicly and immediately disavows this hate. Absent such a pronouncement, logic dictates the sources attaching this to her operatives is accurate and she is not fit to serve the people of this District. To all of the good people out there … we stood up against the haters and entrenched politicians last year, and shocked the political world to chart a new course for our community. I am asking you to, once again, ensure that each and every one of your family and friends stand up against hate and VOTE. Come out in droves like you did last year. The good people here have the power to both effect change and stop hate. On November 4th, VOTE to send that message to them and deliver an honorable man of integrity to Washington to represent all of us … VOTE FOR CHRIS DAY FOR CONGRESS.
