PLEASE STOP WATCHING US Today, no telephone in Zimbabwe makes a call without leaving a record. Today, no Internet transaction enters or leaves Zimbabwe without passing through the Scrutiny. This is about the unconstitutional, unethical, and immoral actions of the modern-day surveillance state and how we all must work together to remind government to stop them. It’s about our right to know, to associate freely, and to live in an open society. It is very important that people speak out, against these practices of the governmen. What can really bring a change is the actions of the peopl. None of the progressive changes in the history of the Zimbabwe have ever been originated inside the Parliament or Senate. We’re going to keep fighting and we’re going to pass something to rein in the Government. The government has granted itself power that it does not hav. We have to stand against this. Our own government has become a threat to. The last thing a free and open society needs is a digital fence around us because it engenders fear and erodes our freedom. We therefore condemn the “indiscriminate” and “territorial” surveillance, and want to ensure “independent oversight” of electronic monitoring. We would advise relevant authorities not to underestimate the people’s staunch resolve to safeguard their territorial sovereignty. If the government takes security measures such as telephone surveillance, as it doing, that constitutes a serious provocation, and we have to take firm countermeasures, and all consequences would be the responsibility of the side that caused the provocation. Wed like, however to contribute more to making our Beloved Motherland a better place. As Zimbabweans, we feel very proud to be able put our experience of the power of solidarity into action for the benefit of our motherland. Zimbabwe could not have achieved its independence without the determination of its founding fathers.
