PLEASE Support Colorado Senate Bill 14-032 Protect Colorado Parental Rights To Access Natural Health Practitioners for their Children! Honorable Legislator __________________ Date:_______________2014 Colorado Senate Dear Senator _______________________________: I respectfully urge you to SUPPORT SB14-032, protecting parental access to traditional, complementary and alternative health care practitioners for their children in Colorado! This bill will protect the right of parents to obtain natural health services for their children. SB14-032 corrects an egregious ban on access to natural health care for children put in place in 2013 in Colorado. The prohibition of natural health practitioners to treat children is an affront to parental rights of Colorado parents and to the rights of children to be treated with gentle low risk solutions for their health. Practitioners providing services to children are successfully and safely practicing in Colorado with great demand by Colorado consumers and must be protected. The new proposed law will overturn the terrible law passed in Colorado last year, a law that is the only law of its kind that we are aware of in the US. It must be stopped and overturned now. Natural health care practitioners in Colorado are legally obligated to avoid a list of clearly spelled out prohibited acts considered potentially harmful, and also are obligated to give out disclosures about their training. The ban on treating children goes far beyond the spirit of the law, has no basis in fact, and is an infringement on parental rights and must be repealed. As an informed consumer, I want to protect my freedom to make my own choice and make choices for my children and family members, including access to and the right to choose from a wide variety of natural health and complementary and alternative health care practitioners and information sources.
