PLEASE see if you can help this poor girl...any amount will do...even as little as R10.00!!! Katie; one of the brave dogs working on our K9 unit unfortunately stepped in a hole and injured her elbow while chasing after poachers about a week ago. Katie is the best tracker dog on our team and this morning she was taken to a nearby vet clinic for X-rays as it injury has shown no improvement. She has sustained a minor fracture in her elbow and a small segment of bone broke off and is causing a lot of pain. She has been referred to the specialist orthopedic surgeon Dr. Hans van der Zee at the Valley Farm Hospital in Pretoria where the bone fragment will be surgically realigned and attached to heal. Valley Farm is a 6 hour road journey from SanWild. We are waiting for an appointment to be confirmed and a quote for the surgical procedure. As a non-profit organization will be most appreciative for donations towards her veterinary cost.
