PM ARREST STAYED By Samuel RAITANO The National Court today stayed the arrest warrant of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, pending a Supreme Court decision and the outcome of a Judicial Review. This follows National Court Judge Les Gavara-Nanu’s ruling this morning that the Supreme Court has the power to clarify id the Police Commissioner has the authority to challenge the warrant obtained by Police Force members under the constitution. Also O’Neill was granted leave today to have Judicial Review of the District Court decision that issued his warrant as court has found that there was an arguable case. This means the PM will not be arrested this soon, until the Judicial Review and the Supreme Court Decisions are concluded. Dates of both hearings are yet to be obtained from the court by the lawyers involved.
