PM Gaston Browne in his New Years Address highlighting some of the projects which will generate jobs in 2015 (no more Sandy Island soon come drama) Let me list some of projects we will deliver in 2015 to boost employment, while we await the start-up of the private investment projects we have signed. - We will complete the Resource Centre at the Antigua State College which stood derelict for the past ten years. - After several years of empty promises, the St. Johns Harbour will be swept, restoring it to its original depth to facilitate larger cruise ships. - We will also invest several million dollars to improve the physical infrastructure at Heritage Quay immediately. - We will build at least two more health centres, one of which will be in the Villa Community and the Grays Green Community Centre to be located at Knuckle Block will also commence in 2015. - We will begin construction of the second phase of the University College at Five Islands. A further EC$50 million will be invested in the physical plant to construct the additional facilities required for an internationally competitive and accredited institution. The construction of the first batch of homes should start within weeks. We are pushing hard to complete the first batch of homes at Dredge Bay within six months.
