PM Modi takes major steps to curb corruption and cut red tape: Under the newly launched Shramev Jayate scheme, labourers will get Unique Labour Identification Numbers, LIN, to facilitate their online registration. Around four crore citizens are expected to benefit. As per the Inspector Raj scheme, a computer will now determine where an inspection will be carried out the next day, on predetermined objective criteria. Complaints-based inspection will also be determined centrally, based on data and evidence. The Labour Inspector will have to upload his report online in 72 hours. An Emergency List will provide for prioritized inspection of serious cases. This move is very important in curbing blackmail and bribes by govt officers. New measures include replacement of 16 forms (which factory owners had to fill) with one form, which is available online. A major step taken involves allowing the self-certification of documents. Hopefully measures like this will help India become a corruption free country in the years to come
