PM To Be Inducted In International Women’s Forum Hall Of Fame Published: Thursday October 17, 2013 | 1:22 pm5 Comments Portia Simpson Miller - AP file Portia Simpson Miller - AP file Debbie-Ann Wright, News Editor – Radio Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller is to be inducted in the prestigious International Women’s Forum (IWF) Hall of Fame. The award is to be presented tomorrow at the IWF Leadership Conference in Vancouver, Canada. The IWF, through the coveted Hall of Fame Award, pays tribute to the impact that women of courage, creativity and passion have made towards improving society and inspiring others. Among those who have received the award are Dame Eugenia Charles of Dominica; Margaret Thatcher of Britain, Nancy Pelosi; the first female Speaker of the US House of Representatives; and Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks. The IWF Leadership Conference is being attended by some 1,300 global leaders of government, private sector and Non-Governmental Organizations. The Prime Minister leaves the island today to attend the function and will return on Saturday. While she is out of the country, Minister of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change, Robert Pickersgill, will be in charge of the Government.
