PM leads swearing-in ceremony of MPs KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today led a swearing-in ceremony of MPs as Dewan Rakyat member which also saw Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia being reappointed as Dewan Rakyat Speaker. Also sworn-in was Deputy Prime Minsiter Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, followed by 131 MPs representing Barisan Nasional (BN). Earlier, Pandikar Amin was declared as Dewan Rakyat Speaker for the second time as soon as the first session of the 13th Parliament term met for the first time today. Pandikar Amin, from Kota Belud, Sabah, was appointed as Dewan Rakyat Speaker for the first time during the first meeting of the first session of the 12th Parliament in April 2008. He was a former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department. This is the first meeting of the Dewan Rakyat after the 13th general election on May 5. – Bernama
