PNG Anti-Corruption Movement for Change and the Way Forward for PNG PNG Anti-Corruption Movement for Change is a radical group differs greatly from any other movement groups to rewrite history by creating a new modern independent State of Papua New Guinea. It recognizes that to create a modern country will require not only addressing of the challenges such as corruption, poverty and law and order problems, etc. but also requires new leadership who will ensure that past mistakes are neither repeated nor tolerated. The new leadership will be required to lead with strong ethical and moral principles and will be driven by national pride and interest to put PNG on the world map not for its natural resources but what the country can achieve in terms of development and progress into a modern developed country. The new way forward is to give people of Papua New Guinea a new hope, a new dream and reason to be proud Papua New Guineans among other countries in the world. The key driver is national pride – to put PNG on the world map, not for its natural resources but for its achievements in development. Before our natural resources are gone and our rural people die without seeing what change is like in developed countries, it is to bring those changes to the door steps of the rural Papua New Guineans. They will die happily seeing change and knowing Papua New Guinea will not be the same anymore. The new way forward must recognizes that all people must involve in income generating activities and majority of the population must be employed in the formal or informal sector to contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of the country. The challenge is to reach out to the people as bulk of the population lives in rural villages. The only means is to diversify the economy away from the traditional commodity based to a rural and agricultural based economy. The diversification of the economy is to be achieved by identifying every economic potential of the country and develop them. Short-term, medium-term and long-term economic growth and development plans and strategies will be developed and implemented to develop the agriculture potential, downstream processing, SMEs, tourism, human capital, sports, entertainment, etc. All these potential are to be fully developed to diversify the economy and create more job opportunities and other income opportunities. To avoid failures and mistakes of past governments is critical to achieve any development strategies or end up repeating the same mistakes. The New Way Forward is to identify the challenges, understand the extent to which development has been affected or will be affected. In pursuing this, it should be recognized that; stability in the government, corruption, poverty, high cost of living, moral decay, law and order, tribal and ethnic violence, poor infrastructure standards, dysfunctional public service, poor education standard, poor health standard, high energy cost, security threats both internal and external, and food security, among others are key challenges to be addressed accordingly in whatever means is necessary. A comprehensive analysis of these challenges will enable policy and legislations changes as well as drawing up plans and strategies for mid-term, medium-term and long-term plans to address each of the challenges. In summary, diversification of the economy to rural agricultural based, providing free universal education up to Grade 12 and high quality education through a dual education system with emphasis on technical skills, creating more employment opportunities by diversifying the economy, building high standard and quality infrastructure for long-term use, creating a peaceful and safer society through the modernization of the security forces with special emphasis on tribal warfare and ethnic violence, are among key priority areas to create an economically independent, fully literate and peaceful society with low cost and efficient transportation. The New Way Forward is the solution to the Country’s worst night mare – corruption as well as the growing challenges that the 38 years leadership has been incapable of solving. PNG Anti-Corruption Movement for Change is going to be a radical Movement for Change to shape the future of this country. It’s a network of all like-minded people getting crazy to shape the country.
