PNG Triathlon Technical Officials, Leah Aisi and Terence Tuohik will be officiating at the Mooloolaba Triathlon festival this weekend with a team of other international technical officials. Leah and Terence are participating as part of their training and exposure for the 2015 Pacific Games Triathlon event. Leah, who works with an environmental advocate agency, is training as the Assistant Chief Race Official in the Pacific Games. This position is similar to a logistics coordinator. Terence, an high school teacher with Marianville High School, is Chief Swim in the 2015 Pacific Games. Both will be understudying their mentors at the Mooloolaba Triathlon event. The Mooloolaba event attracts over 3,000 athletes competing over 3 days in the Aged Group divisions plus the Elite group. Their trip and experience is organized by PNG Triathlon in conjunction with Oceania Triathlon Union, International Triathlon Union and Triathlon Australia. PNG Triathlon has commenced a 12-month training program to prepare its technical officials for the 2015 Pacific Games. This program comprises of a monthly 3-hour classroom session plus practicals at ther Federations monthly triathlon series events. At the end of this 12-month workshop, PNG will have over 20 certificated Technical Officials with some accreditation to the international body.
