POEA warns public about recruiters who deceive OFWs about household work The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has ordered the preventive suspension of another recruitment agency for sending four household service workers (HSWs) to Dubai using visas different from their actual work. Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac said YMC International Manpower Services has violated Section 2 (e) of the POEA 2002 Rules and Regulations, which prohibits acts of misrepresentation in connection with recruitment and placement of workers. The case against YMC International stemmed from the report of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Dubai on misrepresentation cases involving HSWs documented by the post. Cacdac said YMC International provided the four workers visas for security guard, kitchen helper, flower arranger and assistant teacher respectively but they were made to work as domestic workers upon arrival in Dubai. This is the deception or falsehood practised upon workers that makes the alleged acts highly deplorable, Cacdac asserted. The HSWs complained of very low salary and too much work without enough food to eat. The order of preventive suspension against YMC International temporarily bars the agency from engaging in the recruitment and placement of OFWs pending investigation of the recruitment violations cases filed against it. Cacdac also ordered the temporary disqualificatio n of the foreign principals and employers of the four workers from further acquiring workers from the Philippines. /END #MYSTERY
