POINT BLANK 14 ALLAN Ks SHOUT TO COMPETE NOT SURPRISING AT ALL!! I wonder why some people in the NPP were expecting ALLAN KWADWO KYEREMANTEN to step down or pull-out for NANA AKUFO ADDO in the October 18 NPP Fagbearership Showdown... The reason for Allans decision is Simple: If you want to be a future Flagbearer in the NPP then you have to be in the Queue and Stay in the queue period! A trace of History reveals that since 1992 the Flagbearership succession plan has been succesive i.e.You have to compete, make your mark and wait for your turn! Professor Adu Boahen stood in 1992 and won. In the Flanks was John Agyekum Kufuor who beat Adu Boahen to it in the 1996 race to compete in the Great Alliance general elections with the late Kow Nkensen Arkaah. In the next flagbearership race before the 2000 general elections although Nana Akufo Addo performed so well against John Agyekum Kufuor, delegates in NPP and Kufuor himself intimated that Nana Akufo Addo must join the queue and gave the nod to J.A.Kufuor. In 2004, Akufo Addo did not compete Kufuor when he was given that massive acclamation by party faithfuls because he was already President and was there the need to fight your boss when your bread had been buttered by appointing you as his Attorney-General? So Akufo Addo bided his time and was given the nod by delegates in 2008 when he was proclaimed Flagbearer after competing heavily with 16 others. At that Congress, ALLAN KWADWO KYEREMANTEN who had entered the race for the first time was the closest to NANA AKUFO ADDO in terms of votes basking 32% percent of the votes as against NANA ADDO-DANKWAs 48%. Although the NPP lost the general elections narrowly to the late Professor Mills and his NDC, the two NPP Stalwarts namely AKUFO ADDO and ALLAN KYEREMANTEN competed again in the flagbearership contest preceding the 2012 general election. This time among a pool of 6 candidates, NANA AKUFO ADDO polled over 80% of delegates votes as opposed to ALLANs 19%. So when the Super-delegates contest on August 31, 2014 to remove 2 aspirants from the NPP flagbearship race towards the 2016 general elections saw NANA Ahead on 80.81% to ALLANs abysmal 7.89% many in the NPP were thinking ALLAN and the other 4 candidates must throw in the towel and allow NANA to be given acclamation as Flagbearer...Not so fast my brothers and sisters in the NPP because the flagbearership race in that party is like a Chess game; You have to make your move only if there is a Loophole! HOW CAN ALLAN STEP-DOWN TWICE....No Way!!! For your information, ALLAN KYEREMANTEN is not going to compete on October 18 because he believes he will beat NANA AKUFO ADDO...NOOO Far from it! ALLAN KWADWO KYEREMANTEN Must Compete on October 18 to prove to All NPP delegates and voters that he is the Next Person in the FLAGBEARERSHIP QUEUE After NANA ADDO thats all!! Who will begrudge him at a time that some party elements are touting that DR MAHMOUDU BAWUMIA will be the next person to succeed NANA AKUFO ADDO. The plain truth however is that, all these expectations and permutations will change drastically if NANA Should become President in January 2017 trust me!
