POINTS BATTLES HEAT UP FOR 141 SPEEDWAY’S DIRECTIONAL DRILLING SERVICES NIGHT JULY 13 (Francis Creek, WI) July 11 – Points battles in the six divisions at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek are beginning to heat up as the “Creek” hosts Directional Drilling Services night Saturday, July 13 at 6 p.m. In the Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds defending track champion Shawn Kilgore, hot off a 10K win at Farley (IA) Speedway, holds a 17 point edge over De Pere’s Jay Matthias, who’s been a model of consistency all season long at the high-banked, third mile clay oval. To date, 64 different modified drivers have battled in weekly action so far this year. In the class “Too Tough to Tame” Oconto’s Dustin Loberger leads defending IMCA stock car champion John Heinz of Green Bay by a mere 6 marks. So far this year 52 different IMCA stock car drivers have accumulated points in weekly racing. Defending Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmod champion Josh Long of Suamico has a comfortable 29 point lead over Pulaski’s JJ Anderson. To date, 55 different drivers in the division have earned weekly points. The “Whitelaw Weapon” Kevin Naidl holds a nine point margin over Manitowoc’s Shawn Schmitt in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, where 29 different drivers have mixed it up in the fendered class so far this season. In Tisler Salvage street stock action Manitowoc’s Paul Diefenthaler leads defending track champion Kraig Koehler of Francis Creek by 16 points in a class that has seen 57 different drivers partake in weekly points racing in 2013. Abrams Mike Montie holds the tightest points lead so far in weekly action in the sport fours, with a mere two point edge over Pulaski’s Jeff Brehmer. 35 different sport fours have competed weekly at 141 so far this year. The $10,000-to-win Clash at the Creek V, which was rained out June 27, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 24 at 7 p.m. The raindate to the “raindate” will be Thursday, July 25. The night prior nine drivers had qualified their way into the big show. They include Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz, Green Bay’s Benji LaCrosse, Matthias, Kilgore, Gillett’s Tom Schaal, Denmark’s RM Van Pay and Luxemburg’s Jared Siefert. Two drivers have provisionals to fall back on: Seymour Brian Mullen (Badger Mod Tour) and Algoma’s Todd Dart (141). Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. and will include the Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour in a full program as well. A new draw will take place Wednesday with the draw cutoff at 6 p.m. 2 day wristbands will be honored. Also people who turned in their wristbands will have their name on a list at the main entrance.
