POLICE AFFAIRS MINISTER, ADESIYAN, FLAYS AREGBESOLA!!! Police Affairs Minister, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan, has described as unfortunate, the statement credited to the Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, that he and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the August 9 election, Senator Iyiola Omisore, were bent on rigging the next election in the state. In a statement issued in Abuja by his Press Officer, Wale Akinola, Adesiyan stated that Aregbesola’s utterances were only meant to portray the PDP candidate in a bad light before the electorate and to malign his integrity. “It is very unfortunate that songs of violence and electoral fraud has become Governor Aregbesola’s political anthem and signature tune in the recent times. It is most regrettable that rather than concentrate on how to better the lives of the people of the state, Aregbesola has resorted to blackmail and campaign of calumny ahead of the next governorship election in the state. “It is clear to every citizen of the state that the APC is the best when it comes to election rigging and electoral violence. Isn’t that ironical that Governor Aregbesola, who came to power through judicial fraud, is accusing the PDP of planning to rig the next election. That he said he will destroy us should be taken seriously. “We are law-abiding citizens and we cannot resort to any violence before we take over our stolen mandate from Aregbesola come August. The fact that our party’s gubernatorial primary was conducted in a peaceful and decent manner was a clear evidence that our party does not tolerate, preach or cause violence. ADVERTISEMENT “Is that not shameful that civil servants in Osun State have not received their March salary till now despite all the political propaganda that has become APC’s watchword? It is known to Aregbesola that people are tired of his government, that is why he is looking for ways to discredit his perceived political opponents,” the statement further added!!!
