POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding a suspicious house fire in Lithgow overnight. About 11pm (Friday 22 August 2014), emergency services were called to a home on Cook Street following reports of a fire. Police from Chifley Local Area Command attended and evacuated the area, before Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze. While the fire caused significant damage to the premises, the home was vacant at the time and there have been no reports of injury.
