POLICE BEAT UP JOURNALIST Andrew Lwanga A journalist working with WBS has been savagely beaten by DPC Joram Mwesigye as he covered a protest by unemployed youth in Old Kampala. After addressing a press conference at the JEEMA Headquarters in Mengo, a Kampala suburb on Monday, youth under the National Association of the Unemployed led by Doreen Nyanjura proceeded with a march to the office of the police Chief Gen. Kale Kayihura in a bid to inform him of their intended activities throughout the country. Mwesigye who threatened to shoot Lwanga if he did not stop filming the events hit the camera man on his head who passed out with blood oozing out of his head. It was Kampala South police Chief James Ruhweza, who on arrival at the police station, rushed Lwanga to Mulago referral hospital. Leaders of journalist groups are expected to issue a statement soon, detailing the next course of action against the brutal police officer. Via The FmJ #Breakfast_Show With #Tonnysmart
