POLICE BLOTTER - March 24, 2014 Animal Control at 11th Pl W and 90th St SW An officer is dispatched to the area on the report of an animal control complaint and finds a male victim. The victim has a dog bite to his hand and his dog has injuries to the head and ear. The male states he was walking his dog when two non-leashed dogs approached from a nearby house. After sniffing his dog, the larger dog (a Pit bull) attacked. The male worked to get his dog away and yelled for help. Nearby neighbors raced to assist and were able to separate the dogs. Neighbors confirm the dogs live at the nearby house. The officer and an Animal Control Officer contact the owners of the dogs. While the dog has no documented bites, the fact that it attacked and regularly runs free without a leash, it was determined the potentially dangerous dog would be quarantined. Follow-up will be handled by Animal Control.
