POLICE BLOTTER: FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION: The Mount Laurel Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred on October 20th at 6:50 PM. The investigation determined that a pedestrian was attempting to cross Union Mill Road in the area of the Town Square Shopping Center, 860 Union Mill Road, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Union Mill Road. The pedestrian was transported to Cooper Hospital by Mount Laurel EMS where he died later that night as a result of his injuries. The driver, a 44 year old female from Mount Laurel, remained on location and no charges against her are anticipated. The pedestrian was identified as Man Luo, age 87, of Val Drive, Mount Laurel. The crash remains under investigation by the Mount Laurel Police Traffic Bureau. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Traffic Bureau at (856) 234-1414 extension 1565. ARREST: Mount Laurel Police arrested Derrick Johnson Jr., age 30, of the 1400 block of Yarmouth Lane on October 21st at 6:30 PM. Johnson was arrested at police headquarters following an investigation into an offensive touching incident that occurred in the parking lot of the shopping center at 127 Ark Road on October 4th at 10:22 PM. He was identified as the suspect who approached a young female in the parking lot and said he wanted to talk to her. He complimented her on her toes and then touched and squeezed two of her toes. He told the victim he was obsessed with toes before he walked away. Johnson was charged with harassment and released pending a court hearing. Detective DePinto was the arresting officer. BURGALRY (Fellowship) On October 21st at 12:30 PM a homeowner of a residence on the first block of Columbia Avenue returned home to find a man running out of the rear of his residence. Mount Laurel Police responded but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation revealed that a suspect forced entry into the basement of the residence through a rear door. Nothing was taken but the suspect caused approximately $400.00 in damage to the door. The suspect was described as a younger, white male, 5 ’11 to 6’ foot tall, with facial hair, and dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark blue sweat pants. He may have been accompanied by a Hispanic male. FORGERY: An employee of Saladworks, 3131 Route 38, reported that a subject attempted to pay for his food with a counterfeit $100.00 bill on October 21st at 12:00 PM. The employee realized the money was counterfeit and told the suspect that they would not accept it. The suspect tore up the counterfeit money and left. He was described as a black male, 18 to 25 years of age, wearing beige jeans, a grey sweatshirt with “1994” written across the chest and a baseball cap. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A resident of the 1500 block of Saxony Drive reported that on October 21st at approximately 2:30 PM someone broke a window on his residence causing approximately $500.00 in damage. The damage appears to have been caused by a BB or pellet gun shot.
