POLICE RECRUITS MOVE TO COURT By Reporter Police recruits in Nandi County today moved to Court seeking to stop nullification of recruitment exercise by National Police Service commission chairman Johnston Kavuludi. The cancellation was a move that followed an audit that itself followed public complaints of rampant bribery, and a report by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority. Kapsabet parade ground and Maraba were among the 36 centers that Johnston Kavuludi ordered for the repeat of exercise after the process was flawed with corruption. The youth maintained that the exercise was done fairly and that there were no elements of corruption. This is contrary to the commission which said that the process violated set of standards citing massive irregularities and that it did not follow laid down procedures. They blamed Kavulundi Team for cancelling the exercise without proper evidence of malpractices. The youths who were accompanied by their parents called for the disbandment of National Police Service commission for the mess the have brought to them. They also gave the commission seven days ultimatum to reverse the move or else they conduct a mega demonstration in Kapsabet town.
