POLICE REPORT: REPORT ON ILLEGAL FISHING (Socorro, SDN) – At about 3:00 PM of March 28, 2014, elements of Socorro MPS and Socorro MENRO conducted joint seaborne operation along the municipal seawaters of Lanit-ag, Socorro with an approximate distance of 15 kilometers from the shoreline. The team noticed a commercial fishing boat using a fine mesh nets and active gears. The illegal fishers noticed the approaching team and able to evade by cutting the fishing nets and immediately left the area. Said joint operating team was able to recover the destroyed fishing nets with estimated length of 300 meters and brought to Socorro Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. Accordingly, the said commercial fishing boat was allegedly operated by a certain DODO TAMAYO, of legal age, married and a resident of Barangay Taruc, Socorro, Surigao del Norte. Follow-up investigation was conducted for filling of appropriate charges against the aforesaid suspect if evidence may warrant. ACCOMPLISHMENT ON ILLEGAL LOGGING (Alegria, SDN) – At about 5:30 AM of March 31, 2014, SDN PPSC COMPAC located at Bad-as, Placer, SDN and DENR Bad-as received a report from Brgy. Captain Charlie Rosales of Brgy. Camp Edwards, Alegria, Surigao del Norte regarding illegal logging activity. One (1) team of SDN PPSC COMPAC Bad-as led by PINSP EDWIN TIDALGO BASNIG together with Mr. Noel C. Nambatac, PENRO SDN, Forest Protection Officer, Mr. Domingo B. Goyonan, Jr., Team Leader Bad-as DENR Monitoring Center and Mr. Noel L. Pedisani, Forest Ranger proceeded to Brgy Camp Edwards, Alegria, Surigao del Norte. The said team confiscated the following; a. Three (3) pieces Six by Eight by Eight (6x8x8), b. Two (2) pieces Six by Ten by Eight (6x10x8) and c. One (1) piece Ten by Ten by Eight (10x10x8) The lumbers locally known as “HINDANG” specie with a total of Two Hundred Forty-Two point Six (242.6) board ft. and with an estimated market value of Eight Thousand Four Hundred Ninety One Pesos (Ph 8,491.00) onboard in two (2) motorcycles known as “habal-habal”, Honda TMX 155 color black and Motoposh 125 color blue which was abandoned by the drivers upon sensing of the approaching policemen and DENR personnel. Said lumbers and motorcycles were properly turned over to CENRO-Surigao City for proper disposition. ACCOMPLISHMENT ON WANTED PERSON (Socorro, SDN) – At about 2:00 PM of March 28, 2014, personnel of Socorro Municipal Police Station led by SPO1 Richard D. Taruc and PO3 Clark Wilbert T. Dacera apprehended JAYPEE L. ARCULAR, 22 years old, single, fisherman and a resident of Brgy. Rizal, Socorro, Surigao del Norte by virtue of Alias Warrant of Arrest for a crime of Theft under Criminal Case number 24-03 issued by Hon. Judge Cesar P. Bordalba, RTC 10th Judicial Region Branch 31, Dapa, Surigao del Norte, dated March 10, 2014 with recommended bail of Twenty Thousand Pesos (Php 20,000.00). Said person is under the custody of Socorro MPS pending for the Commitment Order from the issuing court. ACCOMPLISHMENT ON WANTED PERSON (San Isidro, SDN) – At about 4:30 PM of April 01, 2014, PNP personnel of San Isidro MPS led by SPO2 Andres R. Consigna apprehended LUCENA ESTOQUE ALABA a.k.a. SENANG, 47 years old, married, housewife and a resident of Brgy. San Miguel, San Isidro, Surigao del Norte at Brgy. Bitoon, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte by virtue of Alias Warrant of Arrest under Criminal Case Nr. 2011-12 for Slight Physical Injury dated September 4, 2012 issued by Hon. Judge Exequil Dagala, 10th MCTC San Isidro, SDN. Said person is under custody of San Isidro MPS pending for the Commitment Order from the issuing court.
