POLICE charged three people this morning after a brawl at the Caltex Service station in John Street. A police officer conducting routine patrols in John Street noticed two women, both in their 20s, physically fighting. He stopped and intervened, using capsicum spray to subdue the women. Both women were issued with criminal infringement notices for offensive behaviour which carries an on-the-spot fine. A third person, a male also in his 20s, was issued with a court attendance notice for being in possession of an offensive implement. Police allege he too was involved in the violence and produced a steel bar during the altercation. Inspector Shane Buggy said police will not tolerate this type of behaviour. If police see any street fighting or brawling in public, they will take action, Inspector Buggy said.
