POLICEMEN OF OLUSOSUN OJOTA ARREST, HARASS AND FINE GRADUATE 10,000 FOR RECORDING WHILE THEY COLLECTED BRIBE. Jadesola Lateefat Sokunbi is a recent graduate of Telecommunication and Information technology from the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. Today, dec 9, 2014 in Ojota Lagos on her way to Yaba, she witnessed police officers brutalizing and subsequently collecting bribe from a bikeman popularly called Okadaman, all off which she recorded on her phone with hopes of making Nigeria a better place in her own little way. Unluckily for her one of the police officers saw her recording and forcefully dragged her down from the public bus. OFFICER NFEM GABRIEL went ahead to twist her arm, her shirt, her trouser all in a bid to collect her phone. Hurting her and not letting go. In defense, she bit the police officer and unluckily drew blood in the process. Immediately the police officers arrested her for assaulting an officer of the law and confiscated her phone. She was thoroughly harrassed like a criminal and dragged to the police station at Ojota mostly by her trousers like a thief. After a session of good cop-bad cop during which one of the officers beg the other to forgive her, OFFICER GODWIN UGWANIYI (not sure of the spelling) fined her 10,000naira as treatment fee for the injured police officer conveniently forgetting that she only bit him in defense, not that she just jumped on him. Now Jadesolas phone, inside which the video of their original atrocity(bribery and harassment) is, has been confiscated by the police except she comes with 10,000naira to collect tomorrow 10/12/2014.
