POLYTECHNIC SECTOR WILL BE GREAT ONE DAY::::---- The song of sorrow make heart bleed. If only you can read the heart bit of polytechnic students, if only you know the frustrations, pains and stress of being a polytechnic student is beyond the issue of FACEBOOK DEBATE. When things appear critical and challenging in life, only those that have courage and right thinking faculty will stand to survive the hard time. It is visible to the blind that one of the major agenda of the incumbent president of Federal republic of Nigeria is to develop the country in terms of technology ( VISION 20/20). The major source of failure to this agenda is negligence of polytechnic sector which is known to be bed rock of technology. Lack of adequate funding of polytechnic sector which made our dynamic lectures to express their grievance by stayed out of work for almost a year. This made frustration boldly written on the faces of the students from this sector which made them to be left with NO OPTION than to confront the nonchalant attitude of the government to this sector. The situation than turn many of our students to street boys while some got themselves involved in many anti social vices that claimed lives of many of us. The act that established the two sectors stated it clearly that POLYTECHNICS AND UNIVERSITIES were established for different purposes. Polytechnic sector was established as practical/technological oriented sector while university sector was established as theoretical oriented institution. Negligence attitude of our government have caused many set back to this nation. I am that a king is coming that will understand the value of this sector, that is when we shall differentiate between boys and men. We should observe and make a research on the performances of the students that pass through the polytechnic sector and secure direct entry admission to universities at 200 level compare with the students that got admission through jamb from 100 level. we all know that the so called universities students dont usually withstand polytechnic products even at 200 level. We should also observe their performances at the field of work. Thank God the bill that will bridge the dichotomy between HND/BSC has passed through the second hearing. I have that confidence that a government is coming that will understand the technological contributions of polytechnic sector to the development of our country. Join me and say God bless polytechnic students across the nation. proudly fedpoffites.
