PONDERING Something has been on my mind all day. Amidst all the joy and blessings that I have been receiving there is something haunting me beneath my consciousness. The question I have been pondering is, "Does a government have the power to administer destruction upon its own people in order to achieve its unspoken goals"? We in the United States have been witness to untold destruction and aggression within and outside of our own borders. The threat of this violence seems to be everywhere we turn. But I must also wonder if these threats are fostered by an unknown force within governments to keep said populations in fear and hence in line with their own policies and goals. There have been assassinations, bombings, shootings, slaughter, chaos, lies, deceit, greed, subversion of laws and even intentional misinterpretations of Constitutions. These injustices are not just on our own soil and our own government but also worldwide. One needs to look and pay attention what is happening on the world stage to be a witness to the death, destruction and horror that is besetting us all. The divide between the haves and have nots is ever widening and will lead to ultimate failure of all economic systems. But some will advocate that a need exists for an economic system that spreads the wealth between all. Nothing could be further from the truth. Others insist that progress and innovation must be halted to preserve what we have today. But what do we have. Failed systems and mass destruction. Is this the will of the people or the doings of short sighted power brokers who will do anything to preserve their own status and standing. Now this brings me to the lack of transparency all governments exist and relish in. In the United States have we not elected individuals to represent us as a people. Does not the same system exist in other so called "Democratic" nations. But are we really represented? I think not. This nation as well as others seem to have fallen prey to the lawyers and money lenders. The systems have become so corrupt as to become unrecognizable to the "Common Man".They have been jaded and twisted so that it takes "legal experts" to tell us how to eat, breath and merely exist. Is this the vision of our and other nations. I hope and fear not. Back to my original question of the governmental destruction of its own people. In a country where known and secret technology exists to an extent that no one person can understand or even fathom the power maintained by said government I am afraid the answer is Yes. But this leads me to the next question. "Is said government WILLING to administer destruction on its own people in order to achieve its unspoken goals"? The answer lies within us to determine. In my case I hope the answer is no but I hesitate to stand by that conviction and my hesitancy haunts me. Ric Wells Common Man
