POP= POWER OF PRETERISM In keeping with the Power of Preterism, Hosted by Blue Point Bible Church and Officiated by Pastor Michael Miano, I will be writing a Monthly Post, God willing on the Power of the Preterists mode of Interpertation verses the Eschatological Views of my Christian Brothers and Sisters that believe in a future return of Christ. The Views of the return of Christ, is better understood by the Greek Term Parousia which is defined as presence verses the idea of a physical manifestation which is perpetually being taught as if it is Doctrine that is supported by the Bible. It is going to be my prayer that all who read these snippets would be moved by the Spirit of the Bereans in the New Testament, who were perspective converts to Christianity, what makes their story so significant is that instead of conforming to what was becoming the Popular negative consensus among their Jewish Brothers and Sisters and the Jewish Religious Leaders of the Day concerning the Nature, and Mission, of this Jesus of Nazareth which from the very beginning of his appearing to this First Century Audience was making some very Bold Claims. Now these Bereans were also different on account of their understanding that to go against and or form an opinion opposite of the Religious Leaders of the Day, and their Peers, could and would mean for many of them serious persecution and perhaps even Death by Stoning. Understanding these odds the Bereans were receptive to at least hearing the GOSPEL message, but guess what they were not content on just the Testimony they were hearing they SEARCHED the scriptures DAILY (all emphasis mine), the reason the Bereans SEARCHED the scriptures was that they were looking for TRUTH did you catch the significance of that, far before we who claim as Protestant Sola Scriptura, which means that Scripture has sole authority to dictate what is and what is not Doctrine, unlike our Roman Catholic Brothers who claim that the Church has final authority to determine Doctrine (more on this on the next post). So here we have our first lesson of the Power of Preterism, Now I want you to really focus on this; preterism sees the fulfillment of the Second coming and all that the Prophets foretold of the Resurrection, Parousia (second coming) and Covenant Promises to Israel and the entire Salvation Plan of GOD for Man as being fulfilled in the 1st Century, with the razing to the Ground of the Temple in Jerusalem in A.D. 70, Preterism is also known as Fulfilled Covanant Eschatology which I prefer. In order to prove the Fulfilled Prophetic Promises of GOD being in the 1st Century we have to compare scripture with scripture and use Secular and Church History as the Bibles HandMaiden, the Berans were not far removed from the Birth and earthly Ministry, Crucifixion, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth the Christ, they did not let the Popular opinion of the Day be the deciding factor in what it was they were going to believe and support as the WORD of GOD, NO! they went to the WORD OF GOD (scriptures) for themselves to see if what they were being told was true or not. For the Bereans the Matter of the 1st Coming of the Messiah was sealed to the appointed TIME and EVENT indicators of GOD as it was proclaimed by the Prophets in the Scriptures, there would be not another 1st Coming birth,death and resurrection of Messiah, which our 21st Century Jewish Brothers and Sisters are awaiting to this Day. But if they would have the Heart of a Berean and the Proper Preterists perspective and Bible Study Techniques and Study Habits, they would be able to properly deduce the Truth of GODS Salvation Plan of Man being fulfilled in Jesus of Nazareth the 1st and ONLY MESSIAH, Fulfilling both his coming in Humility and his Second Coming (Parousia) as the LION of the Tribe of JUDAH in Vengeance and JUDGEMENT, in 70 A.D., the only Comings of the LORD being fulfilled for all eternity, that never ending DAY being fulfilled, for ever Dwelling With and Within his Children. So here we stand in the 21st Century under similar circumstances as the Bereans, but really in a better situation, because we have Hindsight at our disposal and inclusion in our Bible Studies. And the Purpose of My Post is going to be in defense of the fulfillment of GODS salvation Plan for Man and the second coming (Parousia) of Christ is fulfilled in 70 A.D., which goes against the POPULAR OPINION AND TEACHING OF TODAYS CHURCH AUTHORITIES that we are still awaiting the return of CHRIST for some it could be at any moment. I must add that according to these Church Authorities, much of their defense lies in, the POPULAR opinion of the Early Church Fathers some two hundred plus years removed from Christ, which is contained in what is known as the CHURCH CREEDS (more on this later). The Bottom line is this, WILL YOU at least HAVE THE MINDSET OF A BEREAN? The true POWER OF PRETERISM lies within the TRUTH, and the TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE! BE BLESSED BE LOVE
