POP UP EVENTS CHAMBER LUNCHEON OBJECTIVE Gather together local Chamber of Commerce members and their associates to gain facetime with them for Pop Up Events and to drive new chamber memberships in order to show the chamber that we are the experts in event marketing. OVERALL EVENT IDEA Host a luncheon that is free to chamber members and one non-chamber member guest of their choice. Networking and socializing is encouraged. Guest speaker Marlita Blackman, Creator/Founder of DMC Worldwide Advertising and Founder/Chief Marketing Officer for Pop Up Events will speak on the challenges of advertising and creating brand loyalty in today’s market, and each table will have small breakout sessions and will present event ideas for scenarios given at their tables. Chamber staff will be on-site to accept new membership applications. MARKETING • Door to door drop ins to chamber of commerce members with invitations. (can obtain list from Jennifer, chamber president) • Utilize social media to promote the event • Create an Eventbrite (or similar) RSVP page. Send out via email. • Have a banner made for the front of the Fairfield Inn (need 4 days lead time) that says “WELCOME CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEMBERS AND GUESTS” to display in the days leading up to the event • Call individual chamber members to remind them of the event COST: FREE (will utilize trade allowance from The UPS Store for printing) EVENT DETAILS LOCATION • Utilize the Fairfield Inn and Suites. New to Leavenworth and wants to get people to experience the hotel. COST: FREE FOOD • New LL chamber member Jamie Sampsel, who owns “All In Catering & Eatery” needs exposure for her business. COST: TBD (potentially reduced to exchange exposure for her business. Possibly pay for her food and kitchen costs only) AGENDA • Welcome table to data capture • Socializing • Have Chamber members stand and introduce their non-chamber guest • Introduce Marlita & have her present on the importance of being marketing savvy and talk about what Pop Up Events does • Breakout groups/scenarios o Place a business scenario and need in an envelope on each table and have members create an event idea centered around meeting the goals laid out in the scenario. o EXAMPLE SCENARIO: You own a boutique clothing store within a short driving distance of a shopping mall with chain stores. Your loyal customers have continued shopping with you, but your new customer reach is losing to the nearby shopping mall and your recent numbers have been low. You have an overflow of clearance items left from last season, and your new shipment for this season is arriving in one week. {Put together an event idea that will address the needs of the store in this scenario} o Each table must present their event idea and the table with the best event idea (voted on by all guests) will have prizes for each person at the table. • Close of luncheon. • Each guest will leave with a bag of gourmet popcorn that is branded as POP UP popcorn, with our business information and a brochure with photos of events and a description of what we do. • Chamber staff should have a table ready to accept new membership applications and register new members. AFTERWARD • Utilize the data captured to market back to current chamber members, their non-chamber friends, and the friends who signed up as chamber members at the luncheon. • Follow up with the Chamber of Commerce to partner on future events.
