POPOCATEPETL VOLCANO, MEXICO, 26 DECEMBER 2014, ACTIVITY: The monitoring system (CENAPRED) of Popocatepetl volcano recorded low-intensity exhalations accompanied by emission of steam, gas and ash on 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 y 26, 27, 28 y 29 december. The explosion was recorded, the emission reached a height of 1.5 to 2 km above the crater, and moved to the northeast and the north-northeast. At night incandescence was observed above the crater of volcano. On friday 19 december an overflight with support from the Mexican Police, in order to analyze the current conditions of the crater was made. During the overflight the presence of a lava dome was observed in the crater. During the afternoon (19 december) and evening yesterday, three events VT (volcanotectónicos) were recorded at 15:09 h, 18:54 h and 20:35 h, with a preliminary magnitude of Mc = 2.1, 1.9, and 1.8, respectively. This type of activity is included within the scenarios Volcanic Traffic Light Yellow Phase 2.
