Zondo, who is the founder of the Rivers of Living Waters Church in Evaton in the Vaal, south of Joburg added more accolades and titles in his growing bag of honours during a special service at the church on Sunday. Church members came out in numbers in support of Zondo who has been at the helm of the church for the past 25 years. The venue was packed to capacity and an overflow tent had to be erected outside the main building where hundreds more watched proceedings from an audio-video feed on the projector. When it was time for Zondo the graduate to make his way to the podium to accept his certificates, the audience erupted with claps and a standing ovation followed. The church’s spokesman, Anele Mbasane called the event “an auspicious occasion”. “On behalf of the church, we are delighted,” he said. Representing the family, Zondo’s son Nkosana looked at his dad and said: “Father, thank you for making us proud of you.” Holding back tears, the man of the moment, Zondo thanked his congregation for their support. “I wouldn’t have been here without you,” he said.
