PORT OF CALL INFORMATION - K IS FOR KINGS WHARF, BERMUDA. Kings Wharf is on the western most tip of Bermuda, and it also known as the Royal Naval Dockyard. It was used by the British Navy as late as World War II. The 75 acre site is now a complex of shops, restaurants, museums, a movie theatre, the Arts Centre and the Bermuda Craft Market. The main fort house at the dockyard, The Keep, has been converted into the Bermuda Maritime Museum. Also situated within the dockyard complex is the Dolphin Quest, it has a Dolphin display and it is also possible to swim with dolphins, touch them and feed them. Gibbs Hill Lighthouse is the oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world; there are almost 200 hundred steps you can climb to reach the top for a magnificent panoramic view of Bermuda. At the Clocktower Mall you can pick up lots of duty free bargains. Very popular cruise port and you find that a lot of the cruise ships will stay there for 2 or 3 days.
