POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER The Zululand Rhino Reserve is a 23 000 ha Big Five, private game reserve situated in pristine Northern KZN bushveld. The ZRR directors are seeking to appoint a General Manager for the management of the Reserve. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in conservation, wildlife or game ranch management. He must demonstrate the ability to provide leadership and strategic direction to the Zululand Rhino Reserve, and the ability to promote the Reserve to a range of stakeholders. The candidate must show good entrepreneurial and financial management skills and the ability to maintain excellent inter-personal relationships with all stakeholders, including the Reserve staff. Responsibilities will include • Big 5 reserve management • Financial management, with a focus on economic viability and growth of the Reserve; • Ecological management of the Reserve; • Security on the Reserve; • Community liaison; • Infrastructure maintenance • Administrative management. The candidate will have a degree in conservation and/or business, with at least 8 years’ relevant work experience in a senior management position. Qualification and experience must be enhanced by proficiency in relevant computer programmes. A good command of English is necessary, and fluency in isiZulu will be a strong advantage. Possession of a valid Code B driver’s license is compulsory. The Zululand Rhino Reserve offers an attractive remuneration package which will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
