POSITIVE FOCUS: Heres an entry from my journal. As I write my struggles and successes, hopefully it will help you as well. Everything will have a focus on 4 different areas in our lives now: Body, Being, Balance (relationships), and Business/Career. This post is going to focus on BODY. Here we go: Today I didnt do my full workout as I had planned and it pisses me off! Why didnt I get in a full workout? Because I am not feeling 100%. I feel tired and fatigued. Lack of sleep and traveling threw off my routine a bit. Why is this positive? Normally I would just push through and do it all anyway, not listening to my body and what its telling me. Most of the time when Ive been injured during a workout, its been because I was tired and fatigued - mentally and physically. I would push through for fear of losing muscle (this sounds ridiculous, but this is what I am working on - not tying my identity to something external like physical appearance. When you tie your identity to something external you will never find happiness -- more on this later). I always give the advice to listen to your body, however, I havent been practicing what Ive been preaching. I am forcing myself to take my own advice. This is positive because I still broke a sweat, and still got a workout in so I did something for my body. I am not arguing with reality. The reality is that my body needs to back off a little today. Anytime you argue with reality you WILL lose. This in itself is also taking care of my body - knowing that I need to back off a little and not go full bore today so I will be ready tomorrow. This is what I realized today during my self-reflection time. Without balance in each of the four areas: body, being, balance, and business you will experience anxiety, stress, frustration all without knowing why you feel that way. This is my focus for today on the BODY. You must actively pursue balance in your life. Its simple to do, but its not easy. We will be rolling out an intense program encompassing all four areas of our lives, how to find balance, and achieve HAPPINESS.
