POSSESSING YOUR POSSESSION Suit case all But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.- Obadiah 1:17 God’s redemptive plan was to free man so He can fulfil His Kingdom agenda in our lives. On mount Zion, the culture is oppression free. People have been enslaved by sin, flesh, ungodly habits etc, however, Jesus has come to you and me to set us free. At this new season, there is a need to cooperate with God, to obey Him and conform to His Word. This is of fundamental importance, for you and me to experience the power of God this new season. We cannot continue with our normal way of living and expect a different outcome. God is making a clarion call to you and me, to be determined to rededicate our lives to Him; and do away with compromises that imprison us and make us fall short of God’s glory. No one who is waiting on the Lord as we begin this year should tolerate, excuse or ignore “weaknesses”, no matter how little these may be; because God will neither tolerate, excuse nor ignore them. If we tolerate or make excuses for sin, we will not see a need to seriously seek help from God or obtain His deliverance. There is abundance of grace available in our God for us all who sincerely desire a change. However, we have to seek it to receive it. There is grace (supernatural ability) to live a holy life, there is grace to overcome all addictions, there is grace to live in victory day to day. There is a direct correlation between holiness and possessing one’s possessions. Righteousness is a necessity to secure God’s delight. It is the basis or foundation of our claim to having a relationship with God. Holiness brings us into intimacy with God. It qualifies us not just for the power and the glory of God, but for all the riches of God’s possessions. Our transformed life is the proof of our being God’s sons and daughters. Righteousness is evidence of maturity, which transforms us from being a child which is akin to being a servant, to becoming a son. Disobeying the law of God or violating His principle is a proof of immaturity. It disqualifies us from being able to possess our possessions. Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, different nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;- Galatians 4:1 Compromising God’s standard make us lose confidence in approaching God for what He promises us. The truth is that all of God’s promises are conditional upon obeying and conforming to the Word of God. The ultimate desire of God for you and me is to possess our possessions. This is the time; we must no longer delay ourselves. Our attitude must be now or never. It is no longer up to God; it is up to you and me. Let us arise and possess our possessions. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.- Psalm 84:11
