POSSIBLY STILL IN PROGRESS! Starting possibly before 4pm and going past 6.30pm: Over 15 police, including at least two in riot gear (helmets, flashbang cannisters, double-size guns), a police dog and a spotter with binoculars. A friend of mine has been told that there was a sniper also. There were at least 7 police cars, two ambulances, a Critical Incident Response Team van and a firetruck. They were all surrounding a 3 storey block of flats in Ascot Vale that has laundries on the roof. At least 7 cops were standing up at the laundries so I assume the person/persons they were having trouble with were on the top floor. It think it may have been a hostage situation as the police did not move for hours. Upon walking past the last time I could hear someone speaking over a megaphone, Im assuming to negotiate. It should be on the late news or maybe tomorrows 6pm news. There werent any news crews around when I was down there, so it may not be mentioned, who knows. I will pass on any updates as I get them. I pray to god no one was harmed.
