POST 33/103: SOCIAL WORK POLICY DEVELOPER CHILD CARE AND PROTECTION SERVICES REF NO: SD/2014/9/P SALARY: R261 606 per annum (plus benefits) CENTRE: Head Office REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Social Work with 8 years social work experience after registration as Social Worker with the SACSSP. Knowledge and understanding of legislative, policy and Institutional frameworks governing child care and protection functions in the Sector. Knowledge and understanding of departmental child care and protection priorities, commitments, policies, procedures and processes. SKILLS AND COMPETENCES: Good reporting, project and programme management, monitoring and evaluation, negotiation and conflict resolution, Social empowerment and Social intervention skills, Ability to review develop, interpret and apply Social Work Policies. DUTIES: Monitor the legal placement and maintenance of children in foster care programmes. Monitor the provision of psycho-social support services to orphans and vulnerable children in foster care placement. Monitor legal compliance of funded ECDs and partial care sites. Communicate and disseminate information on changes to legislation and policy mandates regulating ECDs and partial care sites. Monitor the effectiveness and appropriateness of programmes delivered to children in need of care and protection placed in Child and Youth Care Centre. Monitor the legislative compliance of drop in centre managed by funded NPOs. Monitor the implementation of the Isibindi Model. Prepare and submit relevant reports.
