POST SHOW / POST SCRIPTS: Person to Person...... A few random thoughts. I thought by now the mental emotional hangover from Thursday nights show at the Kessler would have waned. Instead I came to realize that, even as life resumes.... I am forever changed by that night & it now is officially the happiest night of my life in hindsight. When pianist Thiago shocked me by playing the first riff bars of Clare Fischers Latin jazz anthem, Morning in the second act when I was sleeping in Central park..... It was 1971 & I was there again & there were hundreds of invisible people there with me. The world was sepia & I was 26...... This goes way beyond self-indulgent self-importance, I promise you. Something happened that night in that hall & it is incomprehensible to me how it happened. Especially knowing that I was deeply concerned in my heart for the two weeks prior & especially this time last week.... struggling mentally, seemingly unable to somehow catch the preparatory wave that would enable me to surf that night. But if there truly is a God it was certain that the misery I felt in my heart in the run-up to that show was instead that night, literally, A Gift of a Lifetime to me from everyone involved. And my audio gift of a lifetime to an audience who was there to take a very dangerous ride with a very R-Rated mans night to remember.
