POST:Senior State Accountant REF NO: REF-01504 Directorate: Financial Management: Financial Statements SALARY:R212 106 per annum (plus benefits) CENTRE:Johannesburg REQUIREMENTS:Matric(Grade 12) plus a three year tertiary qualification or (an NQF equivalent qualification) in Financial Information Systems or Financial Accounting. A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferably in financial systems or financial management environment. Solid knowledge of PFMA, Treasury regulations, SCOA. Financial management skills, problem solving, communication skills (verbal and written), customer care, etc. Ability to work in a team environment. Knowledgeable in and an ability to use BAS & SAP. Computer literate. DUTIES: Prepare the Interim and Annual Financial Statements as well as assist in developing GRAP compliant accounting policies. Supervise and manage the work of state accountants. Implement policies and improve systems of internal control in compliance with departmental policies. Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management reports. Attend to and clear both internal and external audit queries. Prepare and reconcile suspense accounts on monthly basis and ensure that it is cleared by financial year end.
