POSTED FOR A MEMBER..........I have a dilemma and really need some advice. I have some horses in the field next to mine. One is easy 172 hh and extremely emaciated. Their feet have a few yrs worth of growth and breaking, snapping ect. The owners have been to them maybe 3 times max in months. Im having to give them water everyday as been so hot this last month. They have trashed their field shelter theres nails everywhere Ive picked as many as I could find up though. Wormy bellies and theres that much crap in their field theres hardly any space to graze for them. Today the big guy was severely lame on left back foot. And cant move Ive come to the point where its making me Ill seeing them not looked after. Me and a friend would be more than willing to take them on if need be. But complaining ect will result in me maybe loosing my field and I love it! (I do complain about them a lot lately) who would be the best to contact, RSPCA or WHW ect. How would it work if the horses were seized ect? Would they take them or offer them to me/friend anyone been on that position .We have no contact details for the owners only a first name and a telephone number. They are paying rent on their field but not attending to the horses for months and months. they would of died of thirst if not for us lot. What to do its giving me sleepless nights worrying about them.
