PRA students science project makes nationals COLLINGWOOD — Science is about finding solutions to everyday problems. Ted Stuart found a novel solution to the issue of phosphorus getting into the water system, and will be headed to the Canada-wide Science Fair in May as a result. The Grade 9 student at Pretty River Academy followed up on a project that earned him a bronze medal at last years national science fair, applying his hypothesis for a solution to a real-world problem. With the assistance of local engineering firm Greenland and Associates, Stuart rigged up a series of carbon filters, running through them wash water from an Alliston potato farm to remove phosphorus.
