PRAISE THE LORD! - PART 15 Another Way To Offer Praises To God Is: * DEPEND ON THE LORD Proverbs 3vs5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING: or trust not to that; for it stands opposed to trusting in the Lord. Men should not depend upon their own wisdom and understanding, in the conduct of civil life, but should seek the direction and blessing of Providence, or otherwise will meet with disappointment; and, when they succeed, should ascribe it not to their own prudence and wisdom, but to the goodness of God; for bread is not always to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, (Ecclesiastes 9vs11: I returned and saw under the sun that—The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.) ; and much less should men lean to their own understanding in matters of Christian living; a natural man has no understanding of spiritual things, of the things of the Gospel, nor indeed any practical understanding of things moral, (Romans 3:11; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Jeremiah 4:22 ). The understanding of man is darkened by sin; yea, is darkness itself; it is like the first earth, covered with darkness, till light is let into it, and therefore not to be leaned unto and depended on, (Ephesians 4vs18: Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.). Many Christians do not completely trust in the Lord. Because they thought they are energetic, smart, intelligent, brainy and exposed; they have false hope of relying in their strength and wisdom rather than depending on God totally. They depend on their own poor powers and fail. Many will rather trust or depend on the professional advice or report from their doctors, lawyers, or even casual advice from their friends will do. Others depend on money, houses, cars, land and other material possessions they possessed. People count them as their securities and thus give them confidence and peace of mind. Truthfully, those material possessions cannot give them peace and joy, they will fail because they are ephemeral things and they dont have eternal value. WE MUST DEPEND COMPLETELY ON GOD MORE THAN ON ANYTHING OR ANYONE ELSE. TO TRULY DEPEND ON HIM, WE MUST PRAISE HIM WITHOUT CEASING!
