PRAY AND INTERRUPT THE ENEMYS AGENDA Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4: 7) The devil is very smart and always has his agents well positioned to carry out his will in the natural. The book of Acts reveals how Satan sought to crash the ministry of the early church using one of his strategic human agents: Now ... Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword, and because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the days of unleavened bread, so when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover. (Acts 12: 1-4) The figure of the Apostle Peter, a man who had walked with Jesus, was very important. The intention of the devil, who was then working through Herod, was to strike the shepherd so the sheep will be scattered. Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church, and when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, Arise quickly! And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, Gird yourself and tie on your sandals; and so he did, and he said to him, Put on your garment and follow me. (Acts 12: 5-7) The story concludes with how Peter went horne to meet the faithful disciples. How did the angel of the Jehovah come? He was dispatched in response to the prayers of the saints. It was the prayers of the saints to Jehovah that prompted the release of Peter. Had the church remained silent as they did in the case of James, Peter would have been killed and the whole revival and evangelistic mission of the Cross would have been crushed. How are you guarding your prophecies and what God has entrusted into your hands? We give the devil the chance to inflict wounds on us when we fail to cover what Jehovah has entrusted to us in prayer. Pray today and see your chains fall. PRAYER: In the name Jesus I declare that any occasion the enemy is seeking against me is cancelled and destroyed in Jesus name. I interrupt, overturn and abort every satanic agenda concerning my life, my family, my church and nation. Lord grant me divine escape and frustrate the devices of the enemy that his hand will not perform his enterprise in Jesus name.
