PRAYER - When you pray, you are forced to slow down. You are forced to shift the focus of your minds from yourself to God, and you start thinking of how powerful God. You stop thinking of how impossible everything is for you, and you start thinking of how possible everything is for God. You stop thinking of how weak you are, and you start thinking of how powerful God is. The wonderful thing about prayer is that you can be completely honest with God in all you say. When you read the prayers of Job, or the prayers of David in the book of Psalms, or the prayers of Jesus in the Gospels, it becomes clear that God does not expect you to write a script and pretend to be organized when in fact you are troubled and unorganized inside. In fact, prayer is the one time and God is the one person with whom you can be absolutely transparent. You can say, God, Im scared. God, Im lonely. God, Im weak. God, Im in dire need.
