PRAYER GUIDE JANUARY 20 – READ ISAIAH 62:4-7. ‘Hephzibah’ means ‘my delight is in her.’ And the next verse (6) gives us a picture of just how strong His delight is for us – for you as a person and for His church as His bride. So first prayer thought for today is this – do you view and treat your own life – body, mind, soul, spirit, as something that God delights in? And do you view and treat the church – its life, its members, its ministry, health, etc., as that which God truly delights in? Pray about that. Then read vss 6 & 7. No rest – no rest for the people of God as they prepare, no rest on God as His people call out to Him – seeking Him, asking Him to come, to save, to glorify and be glorified – no rest until God establishes his church, his kingdom, his people, his presence as the ‘praise of the earth.’ Now I don’t think God is calling us to live lives of exhaustion and burn out in ceaseless activity and constant badgering of heaven. But I do believe He is calling us to diligent and focused effort to pursue and establish His rule and reign and unrelenting calling out to Him expressing our utter reliance on Him and His power and wisdom. I believe that is truly God’s design for the heartbeat of His people – and when it is beating correctly this world not only will notice it BUT will be impacted. So today – just on your part alone – is your heartbeat in rhythm with what is described here? Talk to God about that today and ask the Holy Spirit for a good ‘shock treatment’ to set your heart in rhythm with God’s. Imagine an entire church community with a heartbeat such as this. Ask God for that today for Four Mile.
