PRAYER REQUEST Posted on October 22, 2014 Today, God has sent forth a prayer request—stop and pray. He says in I Timothy 2:1-2 that this is our high priority, our “first of all” for the day. So check your list—is it a high priority item today? And yes, Papa-God doesn’t just leave it at that. He says we are to pray for ALL MEN. That prayer list is way huge, beyond our little lives, so big. All men—even, maybe especially, those we are not fond of. And we know He is not saying pray the “God bless all people. Amen!” type prayer. Nope Papa cares too much about us all. He is saying, “Have you met Holy Spirit? Ask Him who/what/where, etc. you are to pray.” Holy Spirit will teach us what our prayer assignment is and what we need to pray in order to pray in agreement with Him. And we are to expand our prayer beyond just all people to the leaders of those areas/cities/states/nations, the “kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility” in those places. This is definitely bi-partisan. We are to pray for them whether we like them or not. This prayer simply calls each leader to the fullness of God’s intent for each life, with the realization that if leaders’ hearts don’t turn toward God then leaders can be replaced. THE REASON God sends us this prayer request is that it can shift the atmosphere of the culture. Prayer can change things in social and political and economic and spiritual ways—so people can lead “quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and reverence. ” But we know how generous God’s heart is. He doesn’t just want us to pray these things so we have it made in the shade. We pray for the sake of the world. We pray this way because in the midst of the atmosphere shift our intercession creates a culture where many will be saved and come to see Truth Himself. So today we really have a “first of all” that needs to be branded into our hearts. God cares about the world in which we live and He wants us to join with Him in prayer as agents of His kingdom. He wants to bring the fullness of all He has purchased into the lives of the each one in this world. So He says to us to do the simple act of letting Holy Spirit show us how to pray and, agreeing with God’s heart, bring about what He wants to do. He says to us to bravely and courageously do this simple thing today: stop and pray. I Timothy 2:1-4 (AMP)– First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth. restlesschipotle/lindahoyer/2014/10/22/prayer-request/
