PRAYER: Scott and Emily Armstrong serve as missionaries in Dominican Republic. Please join them in prayer for the following: • Pray that the government offices (especially the Dominican consulate) would get all of the Armstrongs’ documents certified and returned in a timely manner. The Armstrongs could go to Dominican Republic (DR) now as tourists, but completing this part of the residency process before they arrive will save the church money and save the Armstrongs time once in the country. • Pray that Scott and Emily are able to arrive in DR by August 15. If they go much later, there will be conflicts with the start of their children’s school year and with several trips that Scott has planned for the next few months. • Pray that God would prepare the Armstrongs’ children for their new school and that they would adapt easily and make new friends. • Pray that God would help Scott and Emily to buy the right car once they arrive in the DR. • Pray for Mesoamerica Genesis. Visit the Web site (mesoamericagenesis) and “Like” the Genesis Facebook page (facebook/MesoamericaGenesis). If you are praying for the Armstrongs, it helps to know the “ins and outs” of Genesis. This will be their life and ministry for the foreseeable future. o Pray for the 28 sites where there is little or no Nazarene presence…yet. Especially pray for the sites the Church of the Nazarene will enter in 2014: • San Pedro Sula, Honduras • Grenada • Veracruz, Mexico • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic o Pray that God would send workers for the harvest. The Armstrongs write that they need 112 (or more) volunteer missionaries to plant churches for two-year periods in the areas listed in the previous request. o Pray for a spirit of generosity from the Church of the Nazarene globally, so that people, churches, fields, and regions will be able to participate in the Great Commission. o Pray for safety and protection. o Pray for all missionaries to receive their visas. o Pray for transformed lives and that God would open doors for the sharing of the Gospel in the settings where Genesis will focus.
