PRAYER WISDOM In God’s economy the way up is down. Jesus prayed to the Father in the garden before He went to the cross, “Let not My will but Yours be done.” He could have called legions of angels to come to His rescue, but like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, He did not open His mouth. He never said anything He did not hear the His Father say. He never did anything He did not see His Father do. He humbled Himself in this way for one reason, so that the Father’s will would come to pass instead of His own will. “Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 (Amplified Bible)
